Write a paragraph explaining how these two symbols make the book better. (So make sure you picked two good ones.)

Part 2

Root Words

Our new root words are fig, flec, flu/flux, force/fort and form.

Pick an example word for each root word, then find this word used in the news (Google News, Yahoo News, Bing News).

(For instance, for the root word belli I could search for bellicose on Google News and find this sentence: He has maintained that position despite Iran’s bellicose rhetoric and despite congressional pressure for sanctions.)

Now do the same for any 10 root words of your choice. Copy and paste all fifteen sentences into a comment on this post.

Part 3

Pick a Poet

Go to poets.org and choose a poet. (The 20 most popular contemporary poets and 25 most historical dead poets are listed on the right side, but you can choose anyone on the website.)

On a piece of paper, write down the poet's name, and the name of at least three of his/her poems.

Then go to a library....
